Improving the performance of structures has always been a key concern in civil engineering. In this study, the effect of Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs) on the cyclic behavior of a braced frame equipped with triangular yielding dampers is investigated. Numerical modeling of 11 different systems was carried out in ABAQUS software, including one model without SMA and ten models with varying SMA lengths and stiffness values. In these models, the influence of parameters such as length, cross-sectional area, and stiffness of the SMAs on the structural response was analyzed. The results indicate that incorporating SMAs into the damper system significantly enhances energy dissipation capacity, reduces residual displacements, and increases the ultimate strength of the structure. In some models, structural ductility also improved. The integration of SMAs with steel dampers compensates for the inherent limitations of conventional damping systems and offers an innovative approach to simultaneously improve damping performance and self-centering capability.
