Study of BSB connections behavior under cyclic loads

Document Type : Original Article

Abstract
The force-displacement curve under cyclic loads is most important characteristics of a connection, which is used for the analysis of different types of connections, as well as defining the capacity and ductility of the connections. In this paper, Special connections made of prefabricated steel named BSB (Broad Sustainable Building), is modeled by ABAQUS in several situation such as using stiffener, pyramidal and additional plates in connection under cyclic loads has been studied. The results of force-displacement curve in different conditions compared with the values obtained from experimental result for the other connections. The results show that BSB connections has higher capacity and performance against the cyclic loads comparing to normal connections.
